From the back cover:
"A conflict between the United States and Great Britain, the War of 1812 was fought mainly between the United States and Canada - a British colony at the time. The conflict ended with friendly relations and no major loss of territory by each country. However, an examination of primary and secondary source materials reveals the war is remembered differently in each country, as well as by the Indigenous peoples whose territory and dreams of an independent nation vanished.
Uncovering the Past: Analyzing Primary Sources
History is in the past, but the way we view it is always changing. This remarkable series examines the historical evidence of events in history giving insight into why evidence is created and by whom, how it can be analyzed and interpreted in various ways, and how controversies in history can develop."
